Larkley Expressions

my first WoW oc ever - made him in 2008 when i started playing! and i found he's perfect to practice on so that's what i'll do

wanted to know more about him so here's the short version (not kidding, this IS the short version, but you probably know the problem yourself)

he is a bit of the black sheep among my blood elves, his mother wasn't exactly fit to be a parent and ran off (and was most likely killed) when he was still a toddler, so his dad, an artisan and merchant, raised him basically on his own. the older lark got, the more like his mother he became. he was more interested in fun than his education, sleeping until noon, drinking, also sleeping around from a young age; he skipped classes on a regular basis and later dropped out of school completely. he has always had a problem with authority, and vice versa. personally, i think part of why he hated being taught so much is that while he is of average intelligence and wouldn't have done that bad, he is also very dyslexic (it's painful to watch him read really), so school never really worked out for him as he kept failing. needless to say, lark's youth was a hard time for his father, and their relationship went from bad to worse.
the only thing that lark actually went through with was, a whole while later, to learn the arts of demonology, with the help of an influential friend bribing his warlock teacher to accept him. he wasn't particularly gifted but it was enough to consider himself a warlock, and enough to figure it might finally be time to leave the city and go adventuring, making a name for himself, and generally just less thinking and more action.
he was with a mercenary company for a few years, lead be retired tauren general Atanka Steelhoof (i think that was his name), and later Salmira Darklore, and even rose to the rank of captain under her command. that was a great time for him; he made great friends, he made some gold, overcame many prejudices, and it did a lot of good for his self esteem.
the company eventually disbanded, and he travelled on his own, or rather in the company of his strong-silent-type-felguard Jhuuvazin, for a while; that was also when he came across the enslaved Lilyan and freed and adopted him as his little brother on a whim.
They've lived together back in Quel'Thalas for a few years, and Lark's life really did change for the better during that time. I am incredibly proud that he finally got his eating disorder under control; he used to be hardly more than skin and bones at times, and now he's still skinny, but a lot healthier, and he eats enough and regularly. Lilyan, being a lot more mature about a great many things, has made it a habit for them to cook and eat together at least once a day, and after a while that worked great. Lark also went back to school a few months ago, and is now learning under a private tutor. last but not least, his relationship with his father improved a lot; since Lilyan (who has quickly become the 'good son' in the eyes of lark's father out of the two of them) has recently left to study magic in Dalaran, Larkley is having dinner with his father every other day or so, sometimes even helps him out in the shop (which he hasn't done in AGES).

he's still drinking probably too much, he's still lazy and his place is a mess, but he has gained so much confidence and it did him so much good. he's a lot more sensitive than he likes to admit; very emotional, probably the very first to become furious about a perceived injustice (though with him 'injustice' is VERY objective). he loves snowplum brandy, his mechanohog, and the tauren chieftains; and he hates cakes and most meat (he used to eat fish and is now vegetarian). and he is very very fond of animals of all kinds. he'll drop everything to say hi to an animal across the street, and owns several of his own, often taking in stray cats and others.

Larkley Morrowgale, ladies and gentlemen, prepare to see a lot more of him in the future because he's an absolute darling, awesome company to have around, and a very cool guy, and i love him
